### Electrician CRM Software

The panel is the record. Not the address. Every visit starts informed.
**Electrician CRM software built on a Property → Panel → Circuit record.** A sales CRM tracks a deal that closes once. An electrician CRM tracks a property you will return to for fifteen years — so the technician who arrives already knows what is installed, what changed, and whether the panel has capacity.

[Book a 15-minute call](/book-demo/)Whatever shape your service records are in today, we set the record model up with you.

One record

Property, panel and circuit — not a contact list with a notes field.

No second job

The record updates because the work was done, not afterwards as admin.

Every visit

The next technician arrives knowing what is installed and what changed.

**The record is a byproduct of the work.** Panel detail, photos and circuit changes land on the property as jobs close — not in a spreadsheet somebody updates on Friday. [See how records work →](https://docs.fieldcamp.ai/data-model/customers)

01 The category

## What is electrician CRM software?
Electrician CRM software holds customers, properties, quotes, jobs and payment history in one system. A sales CRM tracks deals moving toward a signature. An electrician CRM tracks a property you will return to for fifteen years.

That difference decides everything else. A deal closes once. A property accumulates: a panel upgrade in year one, an EV charger in year three, a fault on a circuit you rewired in year six. If the record cannot hold the panel, its amperage, its install date and which circuits feed what, every return visit starts from a phone call and a guess.

Two different products get sold under the same word. Sales CRMs — HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho — move an opportunity through stages until it closes. Field service CRMs hold a site you keep going back to. Electrical work is almost entirely the second kind. Even new-construction shops end up servicing what they installed.

The record test

## What electrical CRM software has to hold that a general CRM does not
A general CRM stores a contact and a company. Electrical CRM software has to store the thing the work happens to. That means the property, the panels inside it, the circuits on each panel, and every attendance recorded against all three. The test is simple and most tools fail it: ask to see the service history of a single circuit at a single address across three years and four technicians. If the answer is a note field, the record is a filing cabinet with search.

02 The problem

## Why electricians outgrow a generic CRM.
Most electrical shops arrive at the same problems, in roughly this order. None of them are sales problems, which is why a sales CRM does not solve them.

The record lives in someone’s head

The owner knows that property has a Federal Pacific panel and an undersized garage subpanel feed. Nobody else does. Held nowhere, it becomes re-visits — and re-visits are where the margin goes.

The estimate goes out and nothing happens

A quote is sent, nobody replies, and no system decides when to follow up. The site visit, the load calculation and the write-up produce nothing, and the hour was spent either way.

The office and the truck disagree

The job finishes on site but the record is updated three days later from memory, or not at all. Invoicing waits on that, and payment waits on invoicing.

Nobody can answer a capacity question

A customer asks whether their panel can take a hot tub. Without a panel record the honest answer is a site visit — an unbillable hour to read what you installed.

Compliance sits outside the record

Permits, inspections and AFCI/GFCI protection are conditions of the work, not extras. A generic CRM has nowhere to put them.

## Electrician CRM Record Model

03 The record model

## Property. Panel. Circuit.
FieldCamp models electrical work the way an electrician thinks about it — three levels, not a notes field. The property outlives the customer, the panel belongs to the property, and the circuits belong to the panel.
Because the structure exists, history attaches to the right thing. A service call on a dead outlet resolves to a circuit, not a paragraph in a job note. Two years later, when that property calls about a hot tub, the panel record already says whether there is capacity — before anyone drives out.

The test to run in any demo: ask where the panel lives in their data model. If the answer is a custom field or a note, the history will not be queryable, and the record decays the moment the person who wrote it leaves. ## Electrician CRM Software vs Field Service Management Software

04 The distinction

## Electrician CRM vs field service management.
A CRM holds who the customer is. Field service management handles scheduling, dispatch, on-site capture and invoicing. Split them and the record and the work get updated in different systems, by different people, at different times.

Sales CRM

#### Built around a deal that closes

The panel lives in a custom field, if anywhere. The office updates the record. Estimate to invoice is not handled; licence tier is not a concept.

Standalone FSM

#### Built around a job that gets done

The panel sits on the job rather than the property. The technician updates the record for that job. Estimate to invoice is usually handled; licence tier rarely is.

FieldCamp

#### Built around a property you return to

The panel is its own record under the property. The work updates the record as it closes. Estimate to invoice is one step; licence tier is read against crew and day.

Follow-up

## The estimate that chases itself.
The loudest complaint in electrical forums is not pricing and not competition. It is that giving estimates eats up a lot of time and often does not lead to immediate work. The cost is not the lost job — the same hour was spent whether or not anyone followed up.

FieldCamp runs the chase. An unanswered estimate is followed up on a cadence that starts when it is sent and stops the moment the customer replies or accepts. Invoice reminders work the same way — anchored to the due date, re-anchored if already overdue, stopped once payment lands. Partial payment keeps the cadence running on the balance only.

Nobody has to remember, and nobody has to send the awkward message. [Follow-up automations →](https://docs.fieldcamp.ai/workflow-automation/workflow-examples)

## Electrician CRM Features

05 Capabilities

## The rest of the record in motion.
Quote and invoice from the truck

A quote written while the panel is open converts better than one written that evening. FieldCamp builds it from the property record, so the technician confirms rather than retypes.

Photos and documents tied to the panel

Panel photos, load calculations, permit copies and as-built labeling attach to the property record, not a shared drive nobody searches.

QuickBooks and Xero, two-way

Invoices and payments sync both directions with the accounting package you already run — no re-keying at month end.

Dispatch that understands licence tier

A panel upgrade needs a licensed journeyman; a device swap does not. AI dispatch reads that requirement against the crew and the day.

Recurring and planned work

Safety inspections, thermal scans and service agreements recur against the property, not a person, so they survive a change of owner.

## How To Compare Electrician CRM Software

07 How to compare

## Six criteria that separate the real ones.
We rank vendors on these same six criteria in our roundups, so the comparison here and the comparison there cannot disagree.

| Criterion | What to look for | Why it decides |
|---|---|---|
| Record depth | Property, panel and circuit as real objects, not custom fields | Decides whether a return visit starts informed |
| Field capture | The record updates as the job is completed, on site, from the phone | If it updates later, it updates wrong or not at all |
| Quote to cash | Approved estimate becomes an invoice without re-entry | Every re-key is a delay and an error |
| Follow-up automation | Cadence on unanswered estimates and overdue invoices, with stop conditions | Recovers revenue already earned |
| Accounting sync | Two-way with QuickBooks or Xero | Avoids maintaining a second set of books |
| Licence awareness | Dispatch and job records understand licence tier and inspection requirements | Electrical work is permitted and inspected; generic tools ignore this |

## Questions To Ask Before Choosing An Electrician CRM

08 Before you buy

## Four questions to ask before you choose.
01

Where does the panel live in your data model?

Is it an object, or a text field? This one answer predicts most of the others.

02

What updates the record when a job finishes?

What happens automatically, and what does someone have to type afterwards?

03

Does an approved estimate become an invoice?

Or does someone rebuild it line by line, giving the invoice a chance to disagree with the quote?

04

If we leave, what can we export?

Ask for a sample export rather than a yes. This gets asked least and matters most.

## How An Electrician CRM Record Builds Over Time

09 Over time

## One record, from the first call to the fifth service.
Whitfield ResidenceService history · 2021–20265 years2021Breaker fault · FPE panel flagged2022Capacity answered on the phone2023200A upgrade · circuits mapped2025Safety inspection · recurring2026EV charger · load calc pre-filledYear one. A service call for a tripping breaker. The technician logs the panel — Federal Pacific, 100A, original to the house — and flags it. That flag is now a record, not a memory.

Year two. A kitchen remodel. The office answers the capacity question on the phone, because the panel record says 100A with two spaces free. Quoted without a site visit.

Year three. A 200A panel goes in. Every circuit is re-terminated and labeled, and the labeling lands on the record as it is done.

Year five. An EV charger. The load calculation is half-written already. A different technician runs it and needs to ask nobody.

None of that required anyone to maintain a database. Each step was recorded because the work was done.
## Electrician CRM Integrations

10 The stack

## It syncs with what you already run.
The CRM is not a walled garden. It is the record everything else reads from, and the accounting stays where your accountant expects.

QuickBooks

Two-way. Invoices and payments move both directions, so a payment recorded in QuickBooks reflects back on the job. [Read more →](https://docs.fieldcamp.ai/integrations)

Xero

Two-way, same as QuickBooks. Common in Australian and UK shops, roughly a quarter of electrical demand. [Read more →](https://docs.fieldcamp.ai/integrations)

Stripe payments

Card payments collected on the invoice itself rather than on a follow-up call. [Read more →](https://docs.fieldcamp.ai/payments/payments-overview)

Twilio SMS and WhatsApp

Estimate and invoice follow-ups reach the customer where they actually reply.

Zapier

Connects the record to whatever else you run, without waiting for a native integration.

Mobile apps, iOS and Android

The record is updated on site, from the phone, by the person who did the work.

## Electrician CRM Glossary

11 The vocabulary

## The CRM terms that matter.
| Term | What it means | Why you should care |
|---|---|---|
| Record model | How the system structures customers, properties and equipment | Determines what history can attach to what |
| Property record | The site itself, persisting across changes of owner or tenant | The building outlives the customer; the record should too |
| Panel record | Type, manufacturer, amperage, install date and remaining capacity | Lets you answer a capacity question without a site visit |
| Circuit record | What a breaker feeds and what protection it carries | Turns a vague fault report into a specific one |
| Follow-up cadence | A scheduled sequence of reminders with stop conditions | Without stop conditions you chase people who already paid |
| Licence tier | The qualification a job requires, constraining dispatch | Electrical work is licensed; generic tools have no concept of it |

## Electrician CRM Software FAQs

12 FAQ

## Answered, in plain terms.

**What does CRM mean in electrical?**

CRM means customer relationship management. In an electrical context it is the system holding your customers, their properties, the panels and circuits at those properties, and the history of quotes, jobs and payments against them. It is a service record an electrician returns to, not a sales pipeline that closes once.

**What is CRM in electrical?**

CRM in electrical work is the customer and property record that everything else reads from: the estimate, [the dispatch board](/electrician-software/scheduling/ "Electrician scheduling software"), the invoice and the service history. Unlike a sales CRM it is built around a property you service repeatedly rather than a deal that closes once.

**What is the best CRM for electricians?**

The best CRM for electricians is the one whose record model matches the work. Judge it on three things: whether the panel and circuit exist as real objects rather than a notes field, whether the record updates as the job is completed rather than afterwards, and whether an approved estimate becomes an invoice without anyone retyping it.

**What is the best CRM for construction?**

Construction CRMs are organised around projects with a start and an end. Electrical service is organised around properties that recur. For residential and light-commercial service work, choose a system built on a property and equipment record rather than a project record.

**What is the best invoicing software for electricians?**

The best invoicing software for electricians is the one already holding the job, because it removes re-entry entirely. FieldCamp generates the invoice from the completed job and syncs it to QuickBooks or Xero.

**Can I use a general CRM like HubSpot or Pipedrive for an electrical business?**

You can, and shops do, up to a point. General CRMs handle contacts and pipelines well but hold no concept of a panel, a circuit, a permit or a technician’s licence tier. Most shops that start there end up running a second system for the field work, which is the disconnect a purpose-built electrician CRM removes.

**Does an electrician CRM replace QuickBooks?**

No, and it should not try to. QuickBooks handles the accounting; the CRM handles the customers, properties and work. FieldCamp syncs invoices and payments between the two so neither has to be maintained by hand.

**Can FieldCamp track panels by type, amperage, install date and warranty?**

Yes. The panel is a record in its own right beneath the property, carrying type, manufacturer, amperage, install date, available spaces and what has been added since. Circuits sit beneath the panel with what each breaker feeds and which carry AFCI or GFCI protection.

**How long does it take to move existing customer records in?**

Customer and property records import from a spreadsheet. Panel and circuit detail is usually built up as jobs are completed rather than back-filled in one go, because the record is a byproduct of the work rather than a data-entry project.

**What happens to an estimate nobody replies to?**

A follow-up cadence starts when the estimate is sent and stops the moment the customer replies or accepts. Nobody has to remember to chase, and nobody chases a customer who already answered.
