# How to Cancel Jobber (2026): The One-Year Commitment Clause & Refund Rules

Cancelling Jobber is self-serve. You log in, go to the **“Cancel your account”** section of your **“Account and Billing”** page, and cancel — or notify Jobber by phone. There is no mandatory call, no retention gatekeeper, and no early termination fee. In a category where that is rare, it deserves saying plainly.

The catch is not in the cancel button. It is in which billing option you chose when you signed up. If you selected the **one-year commitment**, cancelling does not end your obligation — it only stops the renewal. For the full picture on plans and where the platform is strong, see our [Jobber review](https://fieldcamp.ai/reviews/jobber/), which rates it 7.5/10.

Everything below is quoted from [Jobber’s own Terms of Service](https://getjobber.com/terms-of-service/), read 31 August 2026.

## What does cancelling Jobber actually cost you?

1. [**Self-serve cancel**](#how-do-you-cancel-jobber "Self-serve cancel"): Only the Account Owner can cancel, under Account and Billing → "Cancel your account", or by phone. There is no early termination fee, and a monthly plan runs to the end of the paid cycle.
2. [**The one-year commitment**](#the-oneyear-commitment-what-cancelling-actually-does "The one-year commitment"): Cancelling counts only as notice of non-renewal. You still owe all twelve monthly payments, and you cannot downgrade mid-term.
3. [**No refunds**](#does-jobber-refund-anything "No refunds"): Fees are non-refundable: nothing back for partial months, downgrades or unused months. Cancel a free trial before the first invoice processes and your card is never charged.
4. [**Two deadlines**](#the-two-deadlines-nobody-tells-you-about "Two deadlines"): Price changes need 14 days’ notice, and billing disputes must be raised within 60 days of the charge.
5. [**Export first**](#what-to-export-before-you-cancel-jobber "Export first"): Export while access is unrestricted and before your final cycle ends: clients, quotes, job and visit history, invoices, products and services, and Client Hub history.

### Key facts

- **Cancellation is self-serve** — Account and Billing → “Cancel your account”, or by phone.
- **Monthly plans:** access continues to the end of the paid cycle, then stops. No further charge.
- **One-year commitment:** cancelling is treated as **notice of non-renewal**. You remain responsible for **all twelve monthly payments**.
- **Fees are non-refundable** — no refunds for partial months, downgrades, or unused months.
- Price changes require **14 days’ notice**. Billing disputes must be raised within **60 days**.
- Free trial: cancel before the first invoice processes and your card is never charged.

## How do you cancel Jobber?

Directly, in your own account. From Jobber’s terms:

> *“You are solely responsible for properly canceling your account. You can cancel your account at any time by logging in and going to the “Cancel your account” section of your “Account and Billing” page or by notifying Jobber of the intended termination by phone.”*

Only the **Account Owner** holds this right — the terms specify that the Account Owner has *“the right to cancel the account, delete information from the account, and appoint administrators.”* So confirm who that is before you plan the timing.

What happens next depends entirely on your billing option:

| Your plan | What cancelling does | What you still owe |
|---|---|---|
| **Monthly** | Account stays open to the end of the current paid cycle, then cancellation takes effect | Nothing further |
| **Annual (paid annually)** | Runs to the end of the paid year | Nothing further — but no refund for unused months |
| **One-year commitment, billed monthly** | Treated as **notice of non-renewal** only | **All twelve monthly installments** |
| **Free trial** | Cancel before the first invoice processes | Card is never charged |

On the monthly plan the terms are clear and fair: *“your account will remain open until the end of the then-current billing cycle, after which the cancellation will take effect and you will not be charged for the next month or be able to access your account.”*

![Side-by-side comparison of cancelling Jobber on monthly billing, where nothing further is owed, against the one-year commitment, where cancelling counts only as notice of non-renewal and all twelve installments remain due.](https://cms.fieldcamp.ai/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/jobber-cancellation-monthly-vs-annual.png)

## The one-year commitment: what cancelling actually does

Jobber’s pricing page offers billing four ways: **Monthly**, **1 year commitment**, **No commitment**, or **Annual**. The “1 year commitment” option is cheaper per month, and it is the one that changes your exit.

The discount is real and it is sizeable. On [getjobber.com/pricing](https://getjobber.com/pricing/) on 31 August 2026, the same plan priced at **$499/mo** monthly was offered at **$280/mo for 12 months** on the one-year commitment, then $399/mo — alongside a promotional banner advertising **savings of up to 40%**. Extra users are listed at **$29/mo** each. That gap is exactly why people tick the box, and exactly why the clause below matters.

In the terms it is called an **“Annual Subscription that is Billed Monthly”**, and the clause is written in capitals:

> *“IF YOU SELECT THE ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION THAT IS BILLED MONTHLY OPTION, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE PURCHASING A ONE (1) YEAR SUBSCRIPTION COMMITMENT THAT IS PAYABLE IN TWELVE (12) MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS.”*

If you cancel before that year is up, four things follow, quoted directly:

| | What the clause says |
|---|---|
| **(I)** | *“SUCH REQUEST WILL BE TREATED AS A NOTICE OF NON-RENEWAL”* |
| **(II)** | *“YOUR SUBSCRIPTION AND ACCESS TO THE SERVICE WILL REMAIN ACTIVE UNTIL THE END OF THE THEN-CURRENT ONE (1) YEAR TERM”* |
| **(III)** | *“YOU WILL REMAIN RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SCHEDULED MONTHLY PAYMENTS UNTIL THE EXPIRATION OF THAT TERM”* |
| **(IV)** | *“THE ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION THAT IS BILLED MONTHLY WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY RENEW AFTER THE TERM EXPIRES”* |

Read (III) carefully. Cancelling does not stop the monthly charges — it stops next year’s. You keep paying and keep access until month twelve.

**You also cannot downgrade out of it.** A separate clause states you *“MAY NOT DOWNGRADE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PLAN TIER PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF YOUR THEN-CURRENT ONE (1) YEAR TERM.”* So trading down to a cheaper tier to soften the remaining months is not available either.

The one genuine upside sits in (IV): unlike a monthly plan, this option does **not** auto-renew. Once the year ends, it ends.

**Before you do anything, check which option you are on.** Open Account and Billing and look for whether your plan is described as a one-year commitment. If it is, the only decision left is the timing of your non-renewal notice, not whether you can leave early.

Angle · Non-renewal date

### On the one-year commitment, your exit is a date, not a fee

Cancelling stops next year’s charges, not this year’s, so the only decision left is the timing of your non-renewal notice. The Jobber switch kit’s cut-over plan lists what to export before notice and the cut-over in order.

![Jobber one-year subscription commitment clause quoted from its terms of service, broken into the four consequences of cancelling before the term ends.](https://cms.fieldcamp.ai/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/jobber-one-year-commitment-clause.png)

## Does Jobber refund anything?

No. The terms are unusually direct:

> *“The Service is billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and fees are non-refundable. There will be no refunds or credits for partial months of service, upgrade or downgrade refunds, or refunds for months unused with an open account.”*

That covers every case people usually ask about — leaving mid-month, downgrading, and paying for an annual term you stopped using. The one exception is the free trial: *“If you cancel prior to the processing of your first invoice (i.e., up to and including the last day of your free trial), your access to the Service will terminate, and your credit card will not be charged.”*

Renewal also happens automatically at whatever the price is then, not what it was when you signed: your subscription *“will continue for an additional equivalent period, at Jobber’s then-current price for such subscription.”*

## The two deadlines nobody tells you about

Both are in the terms and both are easy to miss.

**Fourteen days on price changes.** Prices are *“subject to change upon fourteen (14) days’ notice from us,”* delivered by email or in-app. Continuing to use the service after the change takes effect counts as agreement to the new amount. If you object, fourteen days is the whole window.

**Sixty days on billing disputes.** *“If you dispute any charges, you must let Jobber know within sixty (60) days after the date that Jobber charges you.”* Past that, you have waived it. Worth a diary reminder if you are mid-exit and watching your final invoices.

## What to export before you cancel Jobber

Export while your access is unrestricted, and before your final cycle ends.

- **Client list** with contact details, tags and property addresses
- **Quotes and estimates**, including multi-option quotes
- **Job and visit history**, and recurring job schedules
- **Invoices and payment records**, including anything processed through Jobber Payments
- **Products and services** list with pricing
- **Job forms, photos and attachments** — these rarely export cleanly and usually need pulling manually
- **Client Hub** communications history

The two that break migrations most often are **recurring visit schedules** and **job photos**. Pull both separately and verify them before you rely on the export.

### Job forms, photos and attachments rarely export cleanly

They usually need pulling manually, so plan them before your final cycle ends. The Jobber Migration Map lists each data set, what to check and who exports it, then one decision per integration.

## What to switch to

The most common reason people leave Jobber is not the product. Our review scores its mobile app **8.5/10**, the iOS app holds **4.8/5** and Android **4.7/5**, and Jobber states it serves **250,000+ home service professionals** — it also holds **4.5/5** on [G2](https://www.g2.com/products/jobber/reviews). The weak spot is reporting at **5/10**, and the reason people actually leave is per-user pricing: **$29/mo** for every technician beyond your plan’s included seats.

- **[Jobber alternatives](https://fieldcamp.ai/alternatives/jobber/)** — the full comparison, including what you give up in each direction.
- **[Housecall Pro](https://fieldcamp.ai/reviews/housecall-pro/)** — the usual like-for-like move. Note it cannot be cancelled online: see [how to cancel Housecall Pro](https://fieldcamp.ai/blog/how-to-cancel-housecall-pro/) before you commit to it.
- **[Service Fusion](https://fieldcamp.ai/reviews/service-fusion/)** — flat-rate, unlimited users, which is the direct answer to per-user costs.
- **[Jobber vs ServiceTitan](https://fieldcamp.ai/jobber-vs-servicetitan/)** if you are moving up-market — though check [how to cancel ServiceTitan](https://fieldcamp.ai/blog/how-to-cancel-servicetitan/) first, because its exit terms are in a different league.
- **[FieldCamp vs Jobber](https://fieldcamp.ai/fieldcamp-vs-jobber/)** — AI dispatch with plan-based pricing, so headcount does not move the monthly bill.

### How the four exits actually compare

Before you sign anywhere, this is the part of the contract that decides how much a mistake costs later:

| Platform | Term | Cost to leave early | Cancel yourself? |
|---|---|---|---|
| **Jobber** | Monthly, or a 1-year commitment | Monthly: nothing. 1-year: **all 12 installments** | **Yes** — Account and Billing |
| **Housecall Pro** | Month-to-month or annual, auto-renews | Nothing beyond the paid cycle | **No — phone call with the account owner required** |
| **ServiceTitan** | 12–36 months | **100% of the remaining balance** — filings show **$16,121 to $67,230** | No |
| **Podium** | 12 months, auto-renews | Nothing, but notice is due **1 month** before renewal | By email to support@podium.com |

On this measure Jobber is the most straightforward exit in the category, provided you are on monthly billing. The one-year commitment is the only place it gets expensive, and that choice is made at signup rather than at cancellation.

Whatever you choose, ask one question before signing: does the monthly price change when I add a technician? That is the question that produced most of the searches this article answers.

## Frequently asked questions

****How do you cancel a Jobber subscription?****

Log in, open your **Account and Billing** page and use the **“Cancel your account”** section, or notify Jobber by phone. Only the Account Owner can do it. On a monthly plan your access continues to the end of the paid cycle and you are not charged again.

****Can you cancel Jobber’s one-year commitment early?****

Not in the sense of stopping payment. Jobber’s terms state that a cancellation request on an Annual Subscription that is Billed Monthly is treated as notice of non-renewal, your access remains active until the end of the one-year term, and you remain responsible for all scheduled monthly payments until it expires.

****Does Jobber refund unused time?****

No. The terms state fees are non-refundable, with *“no refunds or credits for partial months of service, upgrade or downgrade refunds, or refunds for months unused with an open account.”* The only exception is cancelling before your first invoice processes during the free trial.

****Does Jobber have a cancellation fee?****

No early termination fee. The cost of leaving early only arises on the one-year commitment option, where you owe the remaining monthly installments rather than a penalty.

****What percentage does Jobber take?****

Jobber does not take a cut of your revenue. Card payments processed through Jobber Payments carry standard processing fees — our [Jobber review](https://fieldcamp.ai/reviews/jobber/) has the current rates and add-on costs.

****What are the disadvantages of Jobber pricing?****

Per-user charging on top of the plan is the one users raise most, because the bill grows every time you hire. The one-year commitment option is cheaper per month but removes your ability to leave or downgrade mid-term.

****Is Jobber worth it for a small business?****

For small teams, generally yes. Our [Jobber review](https://fieldcamp.ai/reviews/jobber/) rates it 7.5/10, with the mobile app at 8.5/10 as its strongest feature and reporting at 5/10 as its weakest. It gets expensive as headcount rises.

****What CRM is better than Jobber?****

It depends on why you are leaving. If it is per-user cost, look at flat-rate options; if it is reporting depth, look up-market. Our [Jobber alternatives](https://fieldcamp.ai/alternatives/jobber/) comparison scores the realistic options side by side.
